Awards
NDNA NURSERY OF THE YEAR 2017: FINALISTFlying Colours Nursery is delighted to have been shortlisted for the Nursery Of The Year 2017. The NDNA Nursery Awards are the only early years awards voted for by parents as well as judged on excellence. 2017 saw a record response with nearly 200 entries and over 6970 votes from England, Scotland, Wales and Internationally.

Eco-Schools: Green Flag Award (Pending)The Eco-Schools Scotland programme is made up of a set of Seven Elements that are used to plan action on environmental issues and that form the criteria for the Green Flag Award. To earn a Green Flag Award, a nursery needs to follow the Seven Elements, ensuring that Eco-Schools is child-led, linked to the curriculum and involves the whole nursery.

NHS: Breastfeeding Friendly Premises AwardWe have been recognised for welcoming breastfeeding mothers with their babies and family. The award is given to settings who understand the importance of breastfeeding to mothers and babies. We are committed to welcoming mothers and babies who breastfeed, offering privacy to feed if necessary.

Sun Safe NurseryDeveloped by the National Skin Cancer Charity Skcin, this award helps children learn positive sun-safe messages in their early years. The award ensures that children and parents receive appropriate sun safety advice, and confirms that the nursery is committed to keeping children protected during the hours they are in nursery care.

Partners & Affiliates
NDNA: MemberWe joined the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) in 2016. Their goal is to promote quality in early years care and education for the benefit of children, their families and the local community. The NDNA provide updates and guidance on policy and procedures which we follow at Flying Colours.

NHS: Child Smile PartnerAs a partner of the NHS Child Smile scheme, each child in our nursery has a personal toothbrush and cleans their teeth daily. We are proud of our sparkling smiles, and through the Child Smile scheme we help encourage good oral health and education. You can find out more here.
